Inclusive Technology Business Incubator (i-TBI)

Fostering Innovation and Entrepreneurship Across India

What is i-TBI?

The Inclusive Technology Business Incubator (i-TBI) is a three-year initiative supported by the Department of Science & Technology (DST) in India, designed to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in regions with nascent startup ecosystems. By aligning with the national vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, i-TBI aims to address the five I’s: Intent, Inclusion, Investment, Infrastructure, and Innovation. It provides educational institutions with resources to support students, innovators, and entrepreneurs in developing and incubating innovative ideas, ultimately converting them into startups. This initiative promotes geographical and social inclusion, ensuring a more evenly distributed value creation across the country, and fosters a sustainable culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in host institutions and their surrounding communities through grants, mentorship, and ecosystem support.

Our Mission & Vision

Our mission is to identify and nurture student innovators, fostering a dynamic innovation ecosystem that leverages the entrepreneurial potential of young minds. By providing a supportive and vibrant environment, we aim to stimulate innovative attitudes among student entrepreneurs, startups, and SMEs, driving job creation and contributing to regional and national economic growth. We strive to cultivate an educational system that actively supports the development of entrepreneurial initiatives, management of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), and engagement in technology licensing and equity sharing within startups or enterprises. Through robust policy frameworks and guidelines, we empower our faculty, staff, and students to participate in innovation and entrepreneurship (I&E) activities, encouraging them to consider startups and entrepreneurship as viable and rewarding career options.
